Staff

‘Good links with parents help the pupils to enjoy school and attend well. Most other aspects of pupils’ personal development and well-being, including their behaviour, are also good and reflect the good care, support and guidance provided by caring staff throughout the school.‘ (OFSTED 2010)

Mrs. Margaret Northey is our Foundation Stage teacher with a class of Reception children known as Releath Class. She has responsibility not only for the Early Years, including liaison with the Little Beebles pre-school, but also the co-ordination of Religious Education, History, Geography and Music across the school. Mrs. Northey is our nominated workplace First Aider and is the named person with responsibility for Children in Care/Looked After Children.

Mrs. Northey is supported by one of our Higher Level Teaching Assistants, Mrs. Sally Hawken, and at other times by Mrs. Pitt and Ms. Roberts.

Miss. Hannah Phillips teaches our Year 1 and Year 2 children in Trenoweth Class. She is our subject leader for English/Literacy and also has responsibility for co-ordinating our Modern Foreign Language provision and support for children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Mrs. Lisa Pitt supports the learning of children in this class as well as those with English as an Additional Language.

 

 Mrs. Vicci Gillam teaches the remainder of the Year 3 children, the Year 4 and some Year 5 children in Pengelly Class. She is our Primary Link Teacher for Physical Education (PE), the subject leader for Mathematics, Art and Design Technology (DT), and is lead-teacher for the Gifted & Talented pupils. She also co-ordinates our PSHE curriculum (Personal, Social and Health Education), and helps to ensure that we maintain our Healthy School credentials. Mrs. Gillam is also our school Complaints Manager - with whom concerns and worries can be discussed, and hopefully resolved, at an early stage. She is also the staff governor.

Mrs. Helen Winder is one of our Higher Level Teaching Assistants who helps to support the teaching and learning in Pengelly Class as well as delivering our Modern Foreign Languages provision (French).

 

Mr. Paul Hunkin and Mrs. Jackie Spoors share the teaching of Crenver Class - the Year 5 and Year 6 children. Mr. Hunkin is our Headteacher and has responsibility for many aspects of school management including: Health & Safety, Child Protection and Safeguarding, Assessment, Staff Performance Management and Continued Professional Development, School Improvement Planning and Curriculum Development, school liaison and transition arrangements, and Special Educational Needs (SENCo). Mrs. Spoors is our subject leader for Science and ICT, and arranges our residential experiences.

Ms. Caroline Roberts is another of our Higher Level Teacher Assistants and supports the teaching and learning in Crenver Class.

Mrs. Sarah Dobson is our school's Learning Mentor and undertakes work in support of the children with Special Educational Needs and behavioural needs. She is available to discuss parenting and family support needs also and can suggest other groups and organisations who can be called upon to offer advice to parents and carers on a range of issues. She is also one of our lunch time supervisors.

Mrs. Helen Bosley provides additional small group opportunities for children identified on the school's Gifted & Talented register, extending and enriching their learning opportunities often through our links with other schools and learning networks, such as the CPR learning Partnership, Penryn Sports Partnership, Camborne Science & Community College and Helston Community School.

Mrs. Wyn Spittlehouse is another of our Teaching Assistants and meal time supervisors.

Mrs. Geraldine Roskilly and Mrs. Nicola Clemens are our school secretaries, responsible for much of the administration of the school. Office hours are 8.45 - 12.30 and 1.00 - 4.15 pm.

Mrs. Paula Heather is the school cook, employed by Chartwells to manage the school meals provision.

Mrs. Jenny Webb is our site supervisor and is supported by our cleaners - Mrs. Jo Benney.
