Thank you for visiting our ‘support for parents’ page!
The majority of our resources can be found under the ‘Curriculum’ tab on the home page, and then simply click on the subject you would like to find out more about.
Here you will find information related to the end of year SATs, example SATs papers for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, end of year expectations and lists of useful apps and websites to support your child’s learning. We hope you find these useful.
We recognise that phonics is an area in which many parents may seek support, as the teaching of phonics has changed over the years. There is a guide to our phonics programme, 'Letters and Sounds' below. Please visit the ‘phonics’ section of our website (click on the ‘Curriculum’ tab and then click on ‘Phonics’) as you will find a video of the correct pronunciation of the phonemes, a glossary of phonics terminology, example Year 1 phonics test materials, as well as all the information given out at the Phonics Workshop for parents in case you missed it! As soon as it is safe to do so, we will be continuing with our Phonics workshops, so please do look out for the date!
Reading is our priority here at Crowan School. We believe learning to read is the most fundamental part of a child’s education and we value parents’ part in this. If you are struggling to engage your child with reading at home, or if you simply want to help your child with their reading skills, please have a look at the links below.
We have also included some links of recommended authors and books for each age group, so if you are unsure of which books are popular or recommended for your child's year group, please take a look at the links below.
If there is anything else you would like support with, please do let us know!
Many thanks for your continued support.
